Discover CGS

Location: Conference Room Discover CGS is the first step in our membership process. This is a great chance to learn more about CGS in a relaxed and informal setting. Lunch will be provided. Please email Abigail Grebe by September 9 if you would like to attend this class, and indicate whether you will need childcare.

Gray Havens Concert

Location: Sanctuary The Gray Havens are returning to CGS for their “See You Again” tour! Special guest John Lucas will be opening for the duo who have been hailed for their richly textured compositions and multi-layered lyrics. Tickets are $15 in advance online, or $18 at the door.

A Taste of CGS

Location: The Whipple's Home Are you new to the Church of the Good Shepherd? Join others for dessert at Mark and Jen Whipple’s. Mostly we’ll enjoy conversation and get to meet new people, but we’ll also set aside some time for church leaders to share briefly our vision for CGS and opportunities for you to get involved, and to answer questions you may have. Alongside College Lunch

Location: The Commons Would you like to build a relationship with a college student? Maybe you reminisce about your college experience and would love to come alongside a student and share a little wisdom you’ve picked up since then. Our Alongside program matches folks like you with current college students to facilitate the building of these relationships. Join us for a kickoff luncheon at CGS. Medical Community Lunch

Location: S202 Come enjoy fellowship with other medical professionals at CGS, and hear a panel discussion on opportunities in global missions. Dr. Steve Olson, Alison Worsham RN, and Molly Jordan PA will share about their overseas medical missions experience, both short-term and long-term. RSVP to Oscar Aylor or Liz Stoioff. Please plan to bring $5 per person to contribute towards the cost of lunch.

Women’s Fellowship Event

Life: 360 Seminar Joint SMC

What will it take for the Gospel to impact the Durham/Chapel Hill community? We are concluding our Life: 360 seminar with a joint SMC in the Chapel. Aaron McKethan (Senior Policy Fellow at Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, CGS Elder) will be speaking.

Young Adults Hike

Location: Umstead State Park. Meet in parking lot inside south entrance off I-40 exit 287. Fall is here and there’s no better way to experience the autumnal air than a hike! Hike should be easy-moderate and last from 1-2 hours. Optional lunch afterwards to refuel! Please contact Caleb Wilkie with any questions.

Young Adults Halloween Party

Location: Emily Gardiner's House Tis the season to act spooky! Let's gather together for our annual Halloween Party! Come dressed in your best costume for a chance to wine a boo-yeetiful prize. Location: Caselli House. Email for address. It’s bonfire season! Join us for hot cocoa, apple cider, and s’mores. Feel free to bundle up and bring a camping chair if you would like to sit. Can’t wait to see you there!

Location: The Commons CGS Shepherd Seniors are invited to a monthly brown bag lunch. We meet the first Tuesday of every month from 12:00-1:30pm. Bring your lunch and come enjoy fellowship with other senior adults!
