We aim to cultivate a healthy environment characterized by life-giving relationships amongst our students, in order that we might wrestle with the realities of who Jesus is and what He is up to.
We want to not only gather as a community, but to go out into the Durham, Chapel Hill area and love it back to life. We want each student to be dignified in their humanity. We want each student to have their questions answered thoughtfully. We want each student to know there is a God who loves them as they are.
Youth Ministry Updates During COVID-19 Outbreak
During the COVID-19 Outbreak we realize you guys are going through a lot of different emotions that we are all processing. We are all feeling a bit isolated with a little bit more time on our hands. Starting Sunday night we are going to be offering a six week/30 day devotional and reading plan put together for students by myself (JT) and five other youth pastors. These devotionals will serve for personal reflection and quiet time in the midst of the swirling emotions and stir-craziness. We hope they will be beneficial, uplifting, and helpful for you personally and collectively as a family.
On top of that we are also planning on hosting zoom meetings twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays via Zoom. We will all meet together at 11:00am on Mondays. However, in order to facilitate more conversations amongst students by breaking into smaller groups, on Thursdays we will meet with Middle School only at 6:30pm and then High School only at 7:30pm! Zoom can be accessed through any computer, iPad, or smart phone; or you can call in. A link for the Monday and Thursday meetings will be provided to you in each weekly email. If you can’t login on a device you can use your phone to call in. The meetings will be between 30 minutes to an hour. These meetings will serve as opportunity to process life together while we are apart, and we will go through that current day’s devotional and pray for one another.
You may view the first week’s devotional here.
