Congregational Worship

Our extended family of believers gather every Sunday morning at 10:45 to worship together.  God is the sole object of our worship, because only He is Worthy …

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain… Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever ! (Revelation 5:12-13)

We at CGS come into God’s presence with a spirit of humility, acknowledging our personal brokenness, our failings, and our context: Hurting. Divorced. Single. Married. Childless. Older. Younger. Working couples. Single parents. Youths. College students. Skeptics. Mentors. New to the area. Life-long residents. First careers. Last careers. Being born. Facing death… Real People, in need of the Real Jesus.

But because of this very Jesus, we at CGS have become an extended family in Christ. Our worship services reflect this: they are joyous and reverentially God-centered. We sing together, read Scripture together, pray together, and listen together to faithful pastoral preaching. Our music style is blended, ranging from acoustic instrumentation and percussion to strings and brass. We sing ancient hymns and contemporary praise songs.

Come engage in worship with us, and learn how God intends us to live in — and for — this desperately hurting Real World
