Gathered and Shared

Gathered and Shared

Every so often, we’ll share what we’ve been reading. Even if we may not agree with it all, we’re passing it along to stoke conversations about faith, love, and hope.

Josh Briscoe (Ruling Elder, Northeast Neighborhood)

The Ground of Hospitality by Norman Wirzba

“I spend less time playing in the dirt than when I was a kid, but I still ponder the origins of my food whenever I eat. Wirzba not only provides a powerful metaphor for hospitality in the soil and in gardening; he also challenges us to think hospitably about our relationship with creation.”

Glenn Jordan (Ruling Elder, Northwest Neighborhood)

5 Reasons to Keep Going to Church with Baby Brain by Susan Rockwell

“An encouragement to our young families with children.”

Aaron McKethan (Ruling Elder, Southeast Neighborhood)

In Ascension Love Remains by Ian

“Does Jesus really redeem not only our future, but also our past? Does He truly reclaim our tainted memories, making yesterday’s sad things untrue? Why do we in the American church share the Gospel as mostly a forward-looking anticipation of a new heaven/earth without equally and emphatically emphasizing the restoration of what has been lost?”

CGS Elders

The Session is the group of elders called to care for, serve, equip, and oversee a local Presbyterian congregation. We meet on the first Monday of each month to pray, discuss the ministries of the church, and encourage and sharpen one another.
