Community Garden Interest Meeting and Lunch

Interest Meeting | February 2, 12:30 p.m. Calling all gardeners, artists, and handymen: we need your expertise to establish the CGS Community Garden. There will be an interest meeting after church on February 2 during the Super Sunday lunch hour. Plan to participate in the potluck lunch and we will move over to room S202 at 12:30 p.m. to discuss. All are welcome to join us for lunch each week after Sunday's worship service for a great bowl of soup down in our kitchen! Bring your family, your friends, or just yourself and enjoy some time getting to know others in this community. If you are a widow, we'd like to invite you to join our monthly informal lunch at Jason's Deli on the first Sunday of each month right after worship. We gather together to share our stories and to experience the hope we have in Christ. All widows are warmly invited. Men’s Friday Morning Bible Study

Men of CGS, If we want to be more of who God wants us to be, we need each other. Experience intergenerational relationship and encouragement as we learn and apply God’s Word to our lives together. Come join us at 7:00am in the church Commons for coffee and Bible study with a group of men. We use the ESV “Knowing the Bible Series” study by Dane Ortlund.  Contact Joseph Scanlon with any questions.  

Breakfast with English Language Conversation Partners

Refugee Support Ministries is holding a Kickoff event on Saturday, February 8 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the Commons for our English Language Conversation Partners! We're excited to begin the semester with some delicious food, fellowship, and games together. We will have two other Saturday Breakfast and Fellowship gatherings on March 15, and April 12. Writer’s Workshop

To writers, authors, scribblers, poets, lyricists, actual and aspiring! The next Writers’ Workshop will be on February 8 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Please submit your drafts by January 11, which can include poetry, short stories, and essays, to Josh Briscoe. Draft word limit is 5000 words. Limit 2 submissions per person. Anyone ages 12 and up are welcome to submit. We also plan to publish the first edition of a literary magazine in fall of 2025. 4th + 5th Grade Second Sunday Meet Up

Join other 4th + 5th graders for a meal together each second Sunday, followed by a game or two and a devotional with prayer time, led by Ray Toher and youth volunteers! 4th + 5th graders will meet in the Commons (by the big kitchen) to eat together (their table will be labeled), then end with the devotional and prayer in Room N309.
