One New Humanity: A New Global Purpose Joint SMC

Church of the Good Shepherd

At one point or another, most of us have asked, “Why?” We work hard, spend endless hours with our families, squeeze in church activities and even try to find some time for friends. But what is the purpose of it all? Richard Pratt (www.thirdmill.org) will facilitate a discussion of all this during the second installment in our “One New Humanity” seminar series. Join us for a combined SMC in the Chapel at 9:30am.

Church of the Good Shepherd

The Session will convene for a period of Word, Prayer, and discussion on Saturday, February 23. Incorporated into this time together will be a stated meeting, which will occur in lieu of the stated Session meeting previously scheduled for Monday, March 4. The principal focus of the discussions will be to review the progress of the Session ReOrg implementation that has been underway over the past 9 months.

Young Adults Soup & Grilled Cheese Cookoff

Right after church we'll be having a soup and grilled cheese cookoff in the Commons. Prepare your favorite soup to share (we'll have surge protectors to keep your crockpot or hot plate warm) and grilled cheese will be prepared on site. College students will judge the best soup (grilled cheese will not be judged because they are all the best.)

Good Friday Service

CGS Holy Week Schedule Good Friday (April 19): Service at noon in the Sanctuary. Easter Sunday  (April 21): NO Sunday School or Adult SMCs Worship at 10:45am in the Sanctuary. Easter Sunday is a great opportunity for outreach to our community: statistics continue to confirm that our “unchurched” friends and acquaintances are more inclined to accept invitations to attend a worship service on this occasion than at virtually any other time in the year. Therefore, on Easter Sunday (April 21) […]
