Here is a glimpse of festive events happening at CGS this season as we anticipate the celebration of our Savior’s birth:
Cookies & Carols: December 2
Join us on December 2 from 10:00am-12:00pm in The Gathering Place (N307) with your kindergarteners, preschoolers, and littlest ones for cookies, carols, and crafts to kick off the Christmas season! Feel free to bring invite a friend, just be sure to include them in your RSVP! Questions? Email Miss RiLee.
Sunday Morning Worship: December 3, 10, 17, & 24
Our regular Sunday morning worship service at 10:45am will begin with the lighting of the Advent candle each week and include Christmas carols. Please note that we will have our regular morning worship service on December 24 in addition to our evening Christmas Eve Lessons & Carols.
Youth Christmas Party: December 3
Our Youth Christmas Party for combined Middle School & High School is December 3 from 6:30-9:00pm at CGS. We will have a White Elephant gift exchange, play Christmas trivia, and have a gingerbread house building contest. Come dressed in your favorite Christmas pajamas and bring a wrapped gift under $5 for the White Elephant gift exchange. There will be snacks to munch on, but plan on eating dinner before you come.
CGS Kids Christmas Service Project: December 9
CGS Kids Kindergarten through 5th Grade are invited to join us for a Christmas Card Making Party on Saturday, December 9 from 11:00am-12:00pm in The Gathering Place (Room N307). We will be making cards to send to CGS shut-ins, the elderly, and those in need of some Christmas Cheer. And there may be a treat or two for you, too! Questions? Email Miss Marti.
Young Adults Christmas Party: December 9
All CGS young adults are invited to our YAC Christmas Party on Saturday, December 9 at 7:00pm at the Mahafza’s home. We’re doing a Christmas cookie exchange and white elephant gift swap. So bring two dozen cookies, a gift of your choosing (under $10), and a friend, too!
CGS Christmas Concert – Joy of Every Longing Heart: December 10
The Christmas season frequently comes with stress, hurriedness, chaos, and pressure; this year, come sit, be still, and let your heart be quieted. On Sunday, December 10 at 7:00pm, our Adult Choir along with all our Children’s and Youth Choirs will perform a program in the Sanctuary with special music to help you take a moment of rest in a busy holiday season.
Combined SMC: December 17
Join us for a special combined SMC at 9:30am on December 17, where we will sing Christmas carols together, hear updates on our ministries, and have a guided time of prayer.
Christmas Eve Lessons & Carols: December 24
Join us on Sunday, December 24 at 5:30pm in the Sanctuary for our annual Christmas Eve Lessons & Carols. Prepare for Christmas Day as we reflect on the birth of our Savior. This will be a special evening utilizing Carols and Scripture to focus our hearts on Jesus’ first coming.
