Sunday Mornings at CGS
Sunday mornings are the key component of our partnership with parents in nurturing young hearts toward growth and understanding of God’s love.
Check-In on Sunday
If you are new to CGS, please visit our Nursery Hostess Table inside the nursery to check in manually & receive a welcome packet.
For regular attenders and members, we use a digital system to print name badges for children that include food allergies and a matching parent tag. To check in, simply visit one of our two check-in stations: one is located in the kids’ concourse area (see map) and the other station is located inside the nursery, just adjacent to the kids’ concourse.
CGS Kids Sunday School
Sunday School for ages 3 years – 5th grade begins together in the Gathering Place at 9:30 am to review sing, recite scripture and more. Classes are then dismissed by age to their assigned rooms for a Bible lesson. Parents pick up their children from their assigned rooms to attend the beginning of worship together.
CGS Kids Worship
Children of all ages are always welcome to stay with their parents during the worship service. Children’s worship bags are available for use on the right side of the main sanctuary entrance. Two sets are available: one for children ages 3-7 and one for children 7+. Bags should be returned at the end of the service.
Children ages 3 years through 3rd grade are dismissed during the announcements to attend Children’s Worship. Children’s Worship is divided into three classes: 3 & 4-year-olds, Kindergarten-1st grade, and 2nd-3rd grade. All children should be walked to the appropriate class by a parent and picked up promptly once the service ends.
CGS Nursery
Our nursery is available on Sunday mornings for all infants once they reach the age of 12 weeks. Care is provided during the 9:30am SMC hour as well as the entirety of our 10:45am Worship service. In August of each year, children who reach age 3 by August 31st will generally promote out of our nursery and into our age-graded Children’s Sunday School and Worship programs.
Our nursery rooms are generally divided by age. The staff at the nursery desk will help parents make sure children are in the correct nursery room.
Mothers are always welcome to feed and/or nurse anywhere on the CGS campus, but a feeding room is provided next to the Kid’s Concourse area (see map) with the ability to listen to the worship service.
