Amelia Cassar was born and raised in Sacramento, California, but is thankful that God brought her to North Carolina and ultimately to CGS in 2016 to serve its kids and families. She became a Christian at the age of 18 when a sorority sister shared the gospel with her. A few months later, she met her husband and best friend, Isaac, in the dining hall at UCLA. After graduating in 2015 with a B.A. in Global Studies, she moved to Durham with her husband, Isaac, so he could pursue his PhD in biomedical engineering at Duke University. It turns out God also brought them here so Amelia could serve the families of CGS. Amelia is passionate about raising kids to know Jesus personally, and oversees all aspects of the Children’s Ministry at CGS, from snack distribution to volunteer coordination. She ministers to both the families of CGS and the volunteers who serve them. In the meantime, she is pursuing her Masters of Public Administration part-time at UNC Chapel Hill. Outside of CGS, Amelia and her husband run a wedding and lifestyle photography business. She loves horseback riding, hiking, spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Oakley and Emma, and cheering for the UCLA Bruins and the San Francisco Giants. Amelia and Isaac welcomed their daughter Elodie into their lives in August of 2018.
