FOR THE INTERVAL OF 10.28.18 — 11.25.18  (Running Concurrently) :
OPEN CLASS FORMATS:

The Psalms: When Scripture Sings.  Simon Stokes.  Held in S203-204.  Looking at one Psalm each week, we will explore how these songs speak into our lives and experiences.

The Story of Redemption.  All 4 of our TEs collaborating.  Held in S212.  Continuing the study of God’s saving purposes in history.

Re-Frame.  Norman Acker, John Hawkins, and Andrew Parish.  Held in Conference Room N310.  Continuing the video-based Bible study designed to help Christians connect faith with what they do day-by-day.

BOOK STUDIES:

To Change the World (by James Davison Hunter).  Josh Briscoe and Kyle Osborne.  Held in S202.  An exploration of Hunter’s landmark book exploring the possibilities for Christianity in the Late Modern world.  (This class has size limitations:  To secure a spot, please contact Liz Stoioff at lizstoioff@cgsonline.org  or  call the CGS Office at 919.490.1634).

OPEN CLASS FORMATS:

Messianic Prophecies.  Chris Garrett.  Held in S203-204.  A study of key Old Testament Messianic prophecies culminating in Jesus’ birth.

Luke’s Advent Narrative.  Justin Carlson.  Held in S212.  Looking into the details of Jesus’ birth found in Luke’s gospel.

Blue Christmas:  The Other Side of the Holidays.  Bob Burns.  Conference Room N 310.  While called “the most wonderful time of the year”, the holidays can elicit feelings of loss and sadness.  In this class we will consider biblical ways to cope with holiday blues.
