Allyson Wieland  Office Manager
919-490-1634  ext 303

Allyson is a boomerang Chapel Hillian. After 12 years up north, Allyson and her husband Charles returned to Chapel Hill in 1997, much to the delight of her parents.

Allyson has an undergraduate degree in Home Economics. She also has a law degree from Georgetown and a master's from Philadelphia Biblical University. One of Allyson's more memorable jobs was serving as law clerk to the Honorable Claude Hilton at the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Virginia. After clerking, she became an associate at the Washington DC firm of Steptoe & Johnson, working in the regulatory affairs division.

Also during her time in Washington, Allyson ushered at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. "Imagine!" she explains, "actually getting paid to watch live performances of symphonies, plays, and ballets every weekend."

Wanting to use her skills and training to enhance local church ministry, Allyson enrolled at Philadelphia Biblical University in 1994. After completing the program, she found herself coming full circle when she and Charles moved back to Chapel Hill. Prior to coming to The Church of the Good Shepherd, Allyson served as Office Manager for four years at a Methodist church.

At CGS, Allyson works closely with the diaconate in overseeing the day-to-day business operations. If you have a question about your contribution statement or need to be reimbursed, ask for Allyson.

Off the clock, Allyson loves to read and considers her library card her most prized possession. Since 1999, she has led a book club devoted to studying the works of C.S. Lewis. The group meets in Southern Village two Monday nights per month. Check with her to hear about the current selection.
